Samsung today announced yet another mid-range offering, the Galaxy Ace Style, with its key highlight being the Android 4.4 KitKat software version on-board. So far, Motorola’s Moto G has been the only smartphone in India to boast the KitKat flavor in this segment. Knowing that Moto G is already getting raving reviews and is doing extremely well in the market, we pitted the Galaxy Ace Style against the Motorola’s phone to compare the two on the basis of their specification details.
DISPLAY
In the display department, the Galaxy Ace Style is far behind the Moto G, considering it comes with a smaller as well as a lower-resolution display. Where the Galaxy Ace Style has a 4-inch WVGA resolution display, the Moto G flaunts a superior 4.5-inch 720p display, which is not only bigger but has higher resolution as well.
HARDWARE
With a 1.2GHz dual-core processor under its hood, the Galaxy Ace Style loses to the Moto G in this department as well, considering that the latter is powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core processor. The 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage space on the Galaxy Ace Style too are lower than the Moto G’s 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB of internal memory.
However, if we talk about the external storage space, the Galaxy Ace Style gets an edge by offering up to 64GB of external memory space, while the Moto G lacks an expandable memory space.
CAMERAS
Both the phones come with 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, but vary on the basis of the front-facing camera. With a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, the Moto G is certainly a better option for taking selfies, compared to the VGA camera seen on the Galaxy Ace Style.
ANDROID OS
Though both the phones run on Android 4.4 Kitkat, they differ on user-experience. Motorola offers an almost raw Android experience to its users, while the Galaxy Ace Style will come with Samsung’s skin topping the software. Motorola users also have another advantage of updates arriving on their smartphones much sooner than Samsung.
EXTRAS
The Moto G again has an advantage here, as it comes with a nano coating on the inside as well as outside, which makes it resistant to water and dust. Samsung doesn’t offer any such thing.
To conclude, we would say that Motorola’s Moto G is a clear winner in almost every possible way, be it the display resolution, the processor or the additional properties. Though Samsung Galaxy Ace Style wins in the storage department, the Moto G is still a better option over all.
